NEWER GENERATION EXISTS
United Chargers is discontinuing the Grizzl-E Classic and Smart — remaining retail units are sell-through stock. The direct successor is the Grizzl-E Classic Connect 40A, which adds WiFi/app control and a NACS connector option. Buy the Classic only if you find it discounted and want a dumb, rugged 40A unit.
OUR VERDICT
The no-frills durability pick: a die-cast metal enclosure, 40A output and adjustable amperage, with no app to fail. We rate it best for owners who want a set-and-forget charger over connected features.

…GET THE WINNER · ChargePoint Home Flex — $418.08 · 83
Buy on AmazonThe most established smart-charging ecosystem, with amperage configurable up to 50A and one of the best-regarded scheduling apps. We rate it the pick for app polish and network features; the 4.3-star average reflects some WiFi reliability gripes.

…SPEND LESS · EVIQO Level 2 EV Charger — $395.98 · 91
Buy on AmazonA strong value smart charger: 40A, WiFi app, IP66/NEMA 4 weatherproofing and a 4.7-star average, at a price that undercuts the premium tier. The pick when you want app scheduling without spending $500+.

…SPEND MORE · Autel MaxiCharger — $446.50 · 78
Buy on AmazonA well-built 40A smart charger with both WiFi and Bluetooth and a flexible 25 ft cable. Capable and cleanly rated, but the review base on this NEMA 14-50 plug variant is still small versus the category leaders.

…CONSIDER · Wallbox Pulsar Plus — $649.99 · 69
Buy on AmazonResearched as the compact smart-charger pick to replace the delisted Emporia. Wallbox's Pulsar Plus delivers a 40A (9.6kW) Level 2 charge over a J1772 plug, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scheduling to shift charging to off-peak rates. Owners rate it 4.3/5. It's the priciest pick in this category, and the app is most of what you're paying for over a plainer 40A unit.

…CONSIDER · Emporia Level 2 EV Charger — $449.00 · 92
Buy on AmazonThe value-smart benchmark: 48A output, WiFi app scheduling and energy monitoring, UL and Energy Star listed, at a 4.7-star average across 2,600+ reviews. Our top overall pick for a J1772 home charger.
